About the workshop

'A piece of Nature' is a crochet workshop taught by Kimberley Cookey-Gam (of crochetcookey). We will spend a slow and meditational session learning and applying crochet techniques and stitches. We will each choose a piece of nature - stone or wood - and work with the piece to create unique and personal crochet wall hanging and collectible objects. *We hope to use crochet to foster moments of connection and that we will bring home with us a piece of nature.

The workshop will have three parts: [20 mins] Guests will be introduced to the artist’s work, the art of crochet and a selection of crochet stitches, which will be paired with our first tea (from flōoat) and dim sum. [110 mins] Guests will choose their piece of nature, design and crochet their personal wall pieces and collectible objects. [20 mins] We will wind down and have a roundtable sharing of work and thoughts, which will be paired with our second tea (from flōoat). Finally, guests will take home their pieces of collectible nature and learnt skill!

This workshop is designed for all levels. No prior experience or knowledge is necessary. All materials will be provided, there is no need to bring anything to the workshop. Please note that there are two types of tickets, 11.00 am morning session and 2.30 pm afternoon session. 13 guests per session. Saturday August 17th. Guilford Street, London WC1N 1DP.
